LG- RH 7521 W malfunction

HELP, HELP, HELP
The unit is an LG dvd rec with 80G HDD, model RH 7521 W.
The unit is not able to recognize any DVD disc, but it has no problem with picture and music CD's. I tried with a cleaning disk, but in vain.
The message on the TV screen is "UNKNOWN DISC".
