DVD shink is hanging up

I had to reinstall XP on my computer because of some malware. After the installation, I went a couple weeks before I needed DVD shrink. I reinstalled it, then went to back up a disk. As soon as I would hit the backup button, I would get the hour glass. Then nothing would happen. I couldn't even kill the window.

The only new things that I've added since the reinstallation are Cyberlink PowerDVD and AVerTV 6. Any ideas what might be causing DVD Shrink to hang?

Use the DVD Shrink uninstaller inside the DVD Shrink folder and then reinstall again. Here's a link to a fresh copy:

Let us know how you make out. If anything was interferring I would guess it's the CyberPower application.

I had the same problem setting up XP media center. At the time I did the same thing Laddyboy suggested and after a year still no problems.

the same thing is happening to me and it is really starting to get me mad! i have been using shrink for years but yet when i go and buy another computer and download shrink it always closes when i go to backup. i have re installed it over and over and still nothing. am i missing a program that i need to help run maybe? Help.
is there maybe another program that is like shrink which is free to download to use?

DVD Shrink runs fine on my Vista system without doing anything about compatability.

Honestly, here's what I'd do if reinstalling doesn't work or going back to an earlier restore point doesn't work. Backup your data, reformat the HDD and reinstall the OS and only the apps you really use. It's worth having a copy of Ghost and a spare drive to keep a virgin copy of the OS and newly installed apps on. That way a complete reformat and restore takes an hour.

I've been having this problem for the past several days, and now the DVD burner won't work. It's a Sonic RecordNow that came installed on the computer. I use windows XP. Should I uninstall the OS, etc. and then reinstall?

Hi. Start a new thread in the DVD Shrink forum with your problem. Try to be as specific as possible. Your post is more likely to be overlooked if you post a new problem in an existing thread. By posting in a thread of your own, more members are likely to see your post and respond to it. Only people who have previously posted in this first thread are likely to even see your post.
