hi all, i'm new to this so be patient. i downloaded the 1.9b upgrade for wiikey and put it on my wii. i recently burned metroid prime 3 and i put it in to see if it would work. it asks me to update when i click on the disk icon, what should i do? is it ok to click on it because i read in another thread that it just searches for the new update but doesn't actually try to install 3.0? like i said i have the 1.9b update installed, what do you guys recommend?
From what I read all it will do is check your Wii for the update, once it sees that you have the update the game will run, but there is an update for the mp3 on there I heard...one suggestion was to burn the game with the update, run the game, let it update and then burn another copy with update blocker on it and it will work fine.
Edit: Looking at your post again you didnt mention if you have 3.0u installed on your Wii already....but if you dont it wont be a problem updating it anyway, as long as your updating a NTSC Wii with a NTSC update.
what's this mp3 i hear about in some threads; do they mean instead of burning the torrent as in iso do it as an mp3? no, i don't have 3.0u installed on my wii and it is the u.s. version with a u.s. 1.9b update. since i don't have 3.0 installed do i have to deal with mp3 updates or can i just put the game in, run the update and play it?
kay. seriously. you make no sense. i think you're 1.9 update is in relation to the wiikey update right? if so, the 3.0 update has NOTHING to do with your wiikey. a wiikey update and a nintendo update are completely seperate. why on earth would nintendo give you an update on a modchip?? please tell me ive misread your post, otherwise... jesus christ.
pardon me if i confused you. no s*%$ the nintendo update and the wiikey update are different. that's why i was asking, i wanted to know if they would CONFLICT with one another IF when i updated it installed 3.0 for some reason. apparently you misunderstood what i was asking. you're right, why the hell would nintendo make a update for a wii chip? anyway, i figured out what needed to be done: install 1.9b, inserted burned mp3, updated, ran the game, and all was right with the world.
