Hi guys, I currently now having 3.03 oe-b, and now I have got a lot of games cannot play. I wish to change to 3.4 oe-a. I can't seem to find the link to do this. I wanna ask,

a) Is the steps same for all the 3.03 oe series, oe-a, oe-b and
oe-c to change to 3.4 oe-a? Is there a different steps to do so.

b) Find out that in order to change to 3.4, need to downgrade to 1.5
1st b4 doing so. Is it true?

c) Or just change the kernel to 1.5 instead of 3.03?

d) Can someone list out the steps or to provide the link? Thanks.

I would recommend going to 3.52 M33-4 which will play all games out there plus it has a popsloader plugin that will play most PSX games.

if your interested in installing the 3.52 M33 CFW then let me know and i will provide you the links and a mini=guide to do so.

3.40 oe-a can do no-umd, but 3.52 m33-4 has a better no-umd compatability.

3.52 m33 is practically an extension of 3.40 oe-a. it still has the same recovery menu, but has a umd ripper, and a new menu; the vsh menu. you'll be able to change the cpu speed, umd drivers, and usb characteristics (i.e. flash0/umd instead of memory stick) from the xmb.

Some 3.40 OE-A users have had issues running some of the newer titles. Due to needing firmware higher then what 3.40 can support.

It also has a popsloader plugin with pops versions from 3.00 to 3.52 that will pretty much play most PSX games.

It has a UMD Riper so you can rip UMDs to ISO format on your MS.

Just a few options that the 3.52 M33 has,

My god, thats so much things. Actually I was told that if run on 3.52
, MS will spoilt. Thats y i go for 3.4. In this case, if higher version of game was introduce, I might have to upgrade again.
Btw, I oni use my psp to play game and nothing else. No movies, no songs, no pictures. Just games and save files. So cee43ja1, wat u told me bout the :

(vsh menu, change the cpu speed, umd drivers, and usb characteristics (i.e. flash0/umd instead of memory stick) from the xmb.)

I guess i know nuts bout them. I oso want to custom my psp, but I was scared to brick it.

there's nothing wrong with 3.52 m33. i'm running it, and have no problems. if you want a fail safe, create a pandora's battery/magic memory card. if you brick, you'll be able to go back to 1.5.
but if you follow larrylje's miniguide on 3.52 m33-4, you will not brick.

it's not neccessary to use the usb port. if you have some way to transfer the files to your memory stick, there's no problems updating to cfw.

but to create pandora's battery, i've only done it when using a usb cable, because the guide used the psp. you might be able to install without a cable if you use the easy installer, but i can't confirm that.

Make sure you update to 3.52 M33 first before updating with the M33-4 update.

Below are the files you will need.

3.52 M33 HERE

3.52 M33-4 HERE

3.52 firmware HERE

1.50 firmware HERE

You can upgrade to 3.52 M33 straight from your OE version.

Format your MS so you can start fresh when installing the M33 CFW (You might wanna backup your gamedata folder) then Download the 3.52 M33 CFW linked above. Extract the file.

Download both the 1.50 and 3.52 firmware. You need to re-name the 3.52 firmware to 352.PBP the 1.50 firmware to 150.PBP. Then add them to the M33CREATOR folder.

Now copy the M33CREATOR folder to the PSP MS directory of ms0:/PSP/GAME folder.

Now go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run the M33CREATOR.

After you run the M33CREATOR it should reboot back to the XMB. It should have created a 3.52 M33 update which you need to select in the Game Menu Memory Stick.

It will flash the files to the PSP and you should be at 3.52 M33 firmware. If it is then format your MS.

Now extract the 3.52 M33-4 update.

Drag the PSP folder inside that update folder into the root of the MS overwriting the files when it asks you to. Now go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run the m33-4 update. This will only take a few seconds.

After the update is finished check and make sure it says 3.52 M33-4 for firmware. If it does say 3.52 m33-4 then format the MS 1 more time.

You are now updated to 3.52 M33-4.

as for pandora's battery, you can go to noobz.eu and find it there.
