I just got TMPGEnc 3 last week, I had previously been using version 1.6, and I tried to re-author a DVD I had downloaded a couple of months ago but for some reason it always seems to re-encode the video. The DVD's original size is 4.20 GB's but when I re-authored it it came out to 3.25 GB's and that's with background audio in the menus. I checked and checked and I can't seem to find how to fix it so that it doesn't re-encode the video prior to my adding it.

There seems to be an option regarding the video quality, and it's set to 90%, but in order to get to that screen you have to add a video file because it's in the video properties of that video. Once changed to 100% though it doesn't do anything.

I tried authoring it with version 1.6, because it doesn't re-encode, and just copying the menu files from the version 3 authored DVD but it also lowered the size of the DVD. Mind you it wasn't as bad, it went from 4.20 to 3.92, but I don't want to have to use two programs just to do what one should be able to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
