ps 2 burn speed?

i had tried to burn back up copies of ps2 games, using dvd decrypter and clonecd, just like one of the tutorials that has been posted here.. here's the situation, i have succesfull copy of the game then i load it in my PS2(ver30001). the "playstation 2" logo displays that it loaded but, does not continue to the game proper... the tv screen stays black.. then that's it. is there a specific burn speed for the dvd-r to work? i have burned it in 2x burn speed....

the possibilities that i can logically think of are... quality of your DVD-R, preferably use VERBATIM, and quality of ur PS2 Reader.. other then that.. it might be ur DVD-R recorder
