Ok I am going to purchase the Sony DVD burner...Now as far as software goes I was leaning tords DVDXCOPY Xpress just because it seems the easiest to work with now...I was wondering if I make a copy of a DVD will I be able to make another copy from that dvd if worst comes to worst..Cuz I have lots of kids that come over and I have a few dvds that are a garbage now because of them (that is one reason why I am geting the dvd burner..So can I make a copy of a dvd then make another copy from that burned dvd again using DVDXCOPY?

I have the trial of DVD Decryptor and DVD Shrink what other program will i need in order to burn a dvd using those programs? Hit me back thanks.BTW any one have problems with the sony burner?

I have a sony dw-u10a and it's tops..

In answer to the other part use Nero to burn the dvd-video..don't bother with dvd x copy you dont need it..Just rip the dvd with DVD Shrink then keep the VOB files on your h.d then you can make another copy anytime you want

the sony dru-510 is a reasonable burner. there is support for it as well as problems for some with it on the hardware page. It does support -r/+r which is handy for some.

With regard to xcopy, it works fine for many as a one click tool to make backups. However it does cost about $100 or so for the platinum and you cant easily make backups of the backups (you typically need the original source disc) DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink are free and work great. You will need a burning program-- Nero and recordnow seem to do the best job but others will work.

To copy a copy, just do a disc to disc copy with any DVD burning software. OR...drag the files to your HD and burn them into a VIDEO_TS folder.

Copies are not encrypted, so you don't have to do anything fancy to copy them.

There is no problem so big, that a brick placed against the proper skull cannot fix =)

DVDFab is a great app if you want to split a dvd 9 to 2 DVD's.
This is the process that i use and been working.

DVD Decrypter to make ISO //remove Macro.Mount ISO then use elbys CloneDVD to read from mounted drive, then remove extras so it can fit into 1 dvd. Clonedvd can make it the output to a iso or dvd folder //you choose.

And regarding DVDXCOPY don't use it...There are many great apps out there that do a better job then that piece of shit!!!!
