I'm trying to burn audio cdrw disks to use in regular audio cd drives (my car). I'm using Nero v5.5, and have successfully done it with CD-R's with no problems. I'm doing the exact same thing, just using CD-RW's this time, and not having any success.

The burn process goes fine, and reports no errors, but it just won't play in two differend cd players, and will only play in Windows Media Player on my computer (winamp and w2k built in cd player just play nothing, although they both show the correct track length info). The source files are .wav format, and I've tried using the exact same files I've burned to CD-R (which worked OK) to CD-RW's, which I still haven't got to work...

Is there anything special I need to do to use CDRW disk in stand alone cd players?

I bought a sony cd recorder today and went to pc world to buy blank discs. I was told by the assistant that 'it is trial and error as to which pc discs will work on a standalone system' does anyone know of any 'pc' discs which are compatible with the sony recorder? alternatively, can you recommend a national stockist of reasonably priced audio cd-r's?

I figured it was just a matter of the stand-alone's not likeing the CD-RW's, but what puzzled me was that when I put the CDRW back in the same computer, and drive, that wrote it, it still wouldn't play.

Winamp, and w2k's built in cd player, both start the 1st track, and show the correct time lenght for it, but there's no audio at all. The ONLY thing that I can get to actually make sound is Windows Media Player, and it plays it just fine.

I'm using Nero 5.5 to burn the CD-RW's from .wav and .mp3 files. I wonder if there's something wrong with Nero....
