i have swap magic and new version slimline ps2 w/flip top.

as you may know ps2 swap magic cdrom wont work on new version ps2. but dvd will

for sake of learning, what i would like to do is to burn the cdrom games onto a dvd instead and have them load using swap magic dvd.

i have tried this many a time following posts here and havent gotten it to work once.

the ps2 cdrom game i am trying at the moment is in cd-xa format cdrom. i burn it to iso. extract with isobuster. then patch for dvd with dvdscanlite3.5. then write back using nero udf/iso with files/folders in same order as on original iso.

it dosent work when burned to dvdrom swap magic tells me "not a valid ps2 disc"

and also i have some questions for the experts plz

the game does not seem to have a title. when i put it in my cdrom drive it does not say any title. try to burn in alcohol comes up as "new". opened in isobuster says "cd". i read somewhere that you need to name the disc volume correctly to make it boot up? so how should i name this one?

well when i extract the game in isobuster, it comes out to only around 200 mb, when actual iso image is 725 mb. do i need that dummy info to make the game run maybe?

do dvdroms need to be of a minimum size to play on ps2 (ak >700mb or something)

what about the subchannel data this is crucial to run the game?

i have btw backed up every ps2 dvd i have easily and never checked the subchannel button... but maybe cds are different?
