Hi just bought a psp slim n light from a friend in hongkong.
I specified r2 but packaging says r3!! even so i bought 2 umds from amazon which play ok (r2) so bought some more second hand, these wont play and say wrong region code. can anyone make sense of this for me??

They would have to be movies for them to not play, since none of the PSP games are region-locked.

yeah they were movies but this is the weird thing i have 2 movies that will play and 3 movies that wont, all suposedly region 2!! v confused

OK this is really weird now got the last batch of umd movies i ordered (all new) 2 will play 1 wont!!! i now own 8 region 2 movies 4 wil play 4 say wrong region code. what is going on?????

It could be that (some of) the same UMD movies are used for different regions but specify which region depending on where you live. So while 4 of your UMD movies specify region 2, maybe they're the same UMD as the ones in region 3 countries. ie they're unlocked to region 2 and 3 but specify region 2 or region 3 depending on where you got it.

And then the other 4 you got are locked to region 2 only. I guess you can consider it as a bonus that the region 3 UMD movies are working on your region 2 PSP.
