Well I just got an xbox 360 for $100 bucks from a friend and it plays fine. I played GoW for like 3 hours then switched over to Dead Rising.I had been playing for an hour when i heard a beep then the video cut out and I got 3 red lights. The lights were stable and didn't blink at all. I think may have happened cause I have it plugged into a power strip.I freaked out and quickly turned off the system. I turned it back on and everything ran well. I played more Lost Planet. I played lost planet for 2 hours. Now my question is, was that an issue with the power supply the 360 came with or did my 360 just overheat? Was there a power surge? I still got a warranty on the system so if anything goes wrong, MS will be hearing from me!!!.....

after 3 or so hours, most likey overheated. If it were the power supply it would most likely just shut down and the power supply would have a red or orange light on it rather than a green one. Like mine did when it went out.

Thank God it just overheated. I was really scared for a moment there as the system was only 2 days old. I think the Lights did blink on the front when it had the "Ring of Death", but everything still plays fine. I still hope it was just overheating. You really think it just overheated? I'm gonna buy the Intec G8646 Xbox 360 Glow Stand+Cooling from Target then. Thanks for letting me know and the fast response.

My power supply always has a orange LED on it, but when I turn the 360 on the light turns green. Is this normal? I got it from a friend with no manuals at all.

I have another question though. How long will it take for the system to overheat if I just play music? I figure it gets hotter if I play games so maybe music and videos won't make it overheat that fast.
