i got a OS installation ISO (like the ubuntu installation disc) but i have 0 means of putting it on a disc. so i was wondering how would i go about turning that iso into something i could put on my HDD and then boot from it to install it

IF you have windows xp, see if this free virtual cd rom program works for you.

If you have vista, one program that might do it is farstone virtualdrive 11.5 , It has support for ISO files.

no you've gotten it all wrong i need something that the bios can see as a viable OS that i've extracted from an iso and put on a clean HDD the problem is, to my knowledge, there is nothing in the iso that says "boot me" which is the problem i want to fix
