Crystal Chip wont boot

Hi!

Today I installed a Crystal 1.0 chip in my PS2 v. 7/8. I succesully installed the chip but when i try to start a game the PS2 detects the disc as a Playstation 2 disc but when I select to boot the disc the screen gets black and then it gets back to the same screen where i can choose disc. Tried both PSX, PS2 DVD and DVD movie disc. Is this a software or hardware error? Any tips how to solve it?

Problem solved by update the firmware!
