The problem I'm having with FFVII & VIII is when I click start new game, the screen stays black. The intro fmv's in the games just will not start. I dunno why it be doing that. Thanks for all your help I can get on this issue, it's much appreciated.

If the games completely crash and your PSP turns itself off after a short while (usual symptons) try changing the CPU speed inside recovery mode.

3.40 OE has issues with FFVII and VIII.

Upload to 3.52 M33-4.

3.52 M33 HERE

3.52 M33-4 HERE

3.52 firmware HERE

1.50 firmware HERE

Download the 3.52 M33 CFW linked above. Extract the file.

Download both the 1.50 and 3.52 firmware. You need to re-name the 3.52 firmware to 352.PBP the 1.50 firmware to 150.PBP. Then add them to the M33CREATOR folder.

Now copy the M33CREATOR folder to the PSP MS directory of ms0:/PSP/GAME folder.

Now go to game Menu Memory Stick and run the M33CREATOR.

After you run the M33CREATOR it should reboot back to the XMB. It should have created a 3.52 M33 update which you need to select in the Game Menu Memory Stick.

It will flash the files to the PSP and you should be at 3.52 M33 firmware. If it is then format your MS.

Now extract the 3.52 M33-4 update.

Drag the PSP folder that is in the update M33-4 into the root of the MS overwriting the files when it asks you to. Now go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run the m33-4 update. This will only take a few seconds.

After the update is finished check and make sure it says 3.52 M33-4 for firmware. If it does say 3.52 m33-4 then format the MS 1 more time.

You are now updated to 3.52 M33-4.

Now go into recovery menu and follow the below...

Go into recovery mode (Hold R shoulder button down while turning on PSP)

Now go to configuration then to UMD MODE and keep pressing X till you see Sony NP9660 NO UMD.

When it is set to the above setting go to BACK and press X.

Now go to ADVANCED and press X.

Go to ADVANCED CONFIGURATION and press X.

Make sure all the settings here are disabled.

Now EXIT out of recovery.

---------------------------------------------------

After updating to 3.52 M33-4 download this SEPLUGINS file.

Extract it and drag the seplugins folder to the root of your Memory Stick.

Now go into recovery mode. Hold down the R trigger button and turn on your PSP. This will boot you into recovery mode. Now go to plugins and enable the POPSLOADER plugin.

This will load the pops version menu when you run a PSX game. You can select a pops version 3.00 - 3.52 to load for your PSX game. Choose 1 and see if it works with the PSX game.

If it works then leave it on that version. The next time you play the PSX game it will load that pops version with the PSX game.

If it doesn't work then hold down the R trigger button while booting the PSX game and the pops version menu will come up again so you can try a different version.
