Hi Guys,

I'm trying to run games (iso format) from my memory stick in my PSP, with no UMD inserted. It is running 3.52 M33 and the files are in the "ISO" directory at the root of the MS.

I browse to the MS under the games menu. I see an icon but no name ... I run it but after the startup screen it goes blank and then nothing.

The two things I think it might be are wrong setting for UMD in the configuration (default is normal -UMD required- but i've tried the other options). I've also heard that if the file name is too long it plays up.

And now I've destroyed my memory stick with all the messing round!

Am I missing something (aside from my memory stick)?

How could yo destroy your Memory Stick by messing with PSP settings etc. etc?

Try formating the Memory Stick via PC then PSP. Do this by connecting the PSP to PC via USB. Now go to MY COMPUTER on your PC and right click on your PSP drive letter. Go to format in the list. For file system choose FAT32 and make sure the QUICK box is unchecked. Then click OK it will then format the Memory Stick.

After it formats the Memory Stick via PC go to system settings on the PSP and format it via PSP.

Now place the ISO/CSO files into the ms0:/ISO folder.

Here are a few extra things you can try...

Make sure the title of the ISO/CSO is short.

Example:

Correct -- Fifa07.iso
Not Correct -- FIFA-07-[PSP][EUR][www.torrent site.com].iso

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Now right click on the ISO/CSO file and choose Properties. Make sure the Read Only and Hidden box is unchecked and the Archive Box is checked.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Go into recovery mode (Hold R shoulder button down while turning on PSP)

Now go to configuration then to UMD MODE and keep pressing X till you see Sony NP9660 NO UMD.

When it is set to the above setting go to BACK and press X.

Now go to ADVANCED and press X.

Go to ADVANCED CONFIGURATION and press X.

Make sure all the settings here are disabled.

Now EXIT out of recovery.

Now try the ISO/CSO.

If it still dosen't work then you could have a bad ISO rip.

Thanks for that.

My computer hung whilst renaming the files. From that point on the card is not recognised. I've done what you've suggested (trying to reformat using my pc) but it reckon's there's no card inserted.

Anyway, I'll try your suggestions to get the ISO's working and see how I go.

Thanks,
