Sound Problem: Sound lagging behind video HELP PLEASE!!!!

After ripping and encoding Dvd video and audio. When playing back the movie I have the audio is out of sync with the video. How can I correct this problem.. I am using the following programs first is smartripper, second DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc.

THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME ALSO, BUT ONLY WITH
RECENT WB DVDS. I NEED HELP TOO. DOES THIS PROBLEM HAPPEN ONLY WHEN BACKING UP WB DVD
MOVIES? I THINK MY SOUND IS AHEAD OF THE VIDEO.

Believeit or not, you can often get rid of the problem by pausing your player, and then re starting.

Occasionally the sound processor runs slower than the video, and this gives it a chance to catch up

as the sound and video are part of the same bit stream, they can't actually be phisically separated
