So I'm downloading at 50 kbs on BT, and then suddenly it drops from 50 to 35, and then 14, and then 8, and thn 4. At the time of this post, it's still 4 and constantly 4. I'm uploading at 14kbs-23kbs constantly. Can anyone help me to improve my speed? By the way, I'm using a link from Suprnova.

Nah... its just where he lives... damn near EVERYONE has cable :P and the fact that they give everyone a really crappy model of cable modem to start with. Tman: call and complain to your ISP enough times and they'll eventually send you a better model... oh and by the way, when you call in, you will note that their automated response system tells you (as it has been for the last 3 months), that your area has 'connectivity' issues. Therefore, you will REALLY have to complain before they ship ya a new model. :-) Of course the new model only helps a little bit.

What about the gun approach? run in with a shotgun and demand a new modem? :-)

The model of the modem doesnt make THAT big of a difference (although for the first couple dozen gigabytes it sure as hell does). :P You're better off calling in and filling a general complaint

I know what helps as well! Go to cmd, and type "ipconfig /release", and then that will disconnect you from the internet momentarily, and then type "ipconfig /renew". It would seem that Rogers gives you a good connect at the start, and then downgrades your connection little by little.
P.S. I got really mad cuz they were doing some "upgrades" and the internet was down for about 36 hours when they said it would only be for 3 hours. I was on the phone for 2 hours swearing to that guy about how shitty Rogers is. Now I get a great speed!! But no new modem. T_T
