where do i start?

Well, i dont know shit about psp. how to play iso on it or what i can do with it using homebrew.
After reading a little in these forums im a little wiser, but more confused..lol. to much info for my small brain i guess :p
I bought my niese a nintendo ds, and "cracked" it for her but that seems easy compared to a psp.
So what im wondering is:
can i buy latest psp version?
or havent anyone found a way around the newest firmware yet?
If not, is the only option to buy an old used psp with older firmware?
if i get a psp, 4 gigabytememory card(im guessing thats the biggest),
and a program to use for launching iso`s from psp. will that then be enough to get me started?
or have i missed something? Is there more i need to know before i start?

i dont see the meaning with beeing a smartass like that larrylje..
my questions where not complicated, nor did u have to write alot.
You would probaly not use more time writing the answers to me.
I registred just for that, but it seems like i have to find another forum now.

that's where all newbs go wrong. they ask questions that they can find easily, if they take the time to look. for some reason, all newbs want everything handed to them. it doesn't work like that on aD.
to get back on topic, if you get a new psp, you won't be able to do anything, but use it normally. you'll need a psp running custom firmware to make the new psp run custom firmware.
if you buy used, you'll have to check the firmware on it. if it's 3.50 and below, then all you need is an unpatched copy of lumines. if it's 3.51 and above, then you'll need to find someone who has a pandora's battery.

^^Taken right from the forum rules. He helped you loads, you just need a half a brain to use search engines.

I was a noob at one point and learned everything I know from past post. I challenge you to do a search and see how many threads I have started in this forum or any other forum. Very few threads have been started by me. Why is that? Because almost every question I have or you would even bring up has pretty much already been answered and discussed in this forum.
If you would read the rules it says search first before posting questions that have already been answered. So respect the forum by following the rules then maybe you will get respect in return.
I answered your question by linking you to search pages for you to find your answer. It isn't my problem if it wasn't a good enough answer for you. So stop thinking you deserve everything handed to you and do what I and other members had to do to gain our knowledge.
SEARCH AND LEARN!
I don't spend hours a day on this site answering threads to have noobs neglect those past threads and ask the same questions over and over again.
If you have a problem and think I am being disrespectful then click on the report button and report my offensive post. Because face it nothing I said or did was disrespectful or offensive.

i was a noob, too, back in march when i started with my ps2. but i didn't sign up until last week, long after i got my psp. i knew people were asking the same questions, so i learned from them.
members will give their opinion on certain things; stay away from that, highly recommend this. don't act all stuck up, and they'll help, greatly.
