Hey all, I just bought a cyclowiz mod and was installing it today, it was going swimmingly until I realized I had wires which were too thick. I attempted to solder the wire to connection point S as defined by the installation guide ( http://www.techwizad.co.uk/Cyclowizinstall11.pdf ). I got it on but when I bent the wire to flatten it out and connect it to the mod chip the entire solder point broke off.

I got it working after about 4 hours of tinkering but It's very sloppy. I scratched the tracer off the wires connecting to the solder point from the top and bottom and managed to get a blob of solder to sit between them. It looks like it will fall off if you look at it funny. The Wii works fine but it scares me.

I came up with an idea to make a new solder point. The original point was a copper square with a small amount of solder on top of it attached to the breadboard of the chip. Would super-gluing a piece of say aluminum foil to where the square was in essence create a new solder point or would a different (cheap and pliable) metal work better? Is aluminum out of the question? Please help me!

Also, if anyone knows where I could get a new D2A chipset DVD drive for the Wii could you let me know?

Thanks!

I wouldnt suggest that , I dont believe super glue is a conductor so that aluminum foil idea may not work, plus it seems questionable anyway, I did the same thing to a buddies wii, what I did was trace the point back to the chip, d2a in my case, and just soldered it to the peg on the chip, its a pretty small point but if I can do it with a 45watt iron and little experience Im sure you can, good luck
