hi

i manage to get a working copy of call of duty (safedisc 3.10). however it only works with alcohols ignore media type-emulation. in my daemontools, the image only installs, but cant play it even when alcohol120 is turned on.
now, is it normal i have to emulate, or did i just made a bad backup?
thx

First of all your post is confusing m8. First you say you managed to make a working copy but then you later say the image installs (Daemon Tools) but can't play the backup. My recommendation if you wan't to run virtual stealth drives then either use Alcohol 120%'s or Daemon Tools, but not both unless the pc game is blacklisted , then resort to Daemon Tools. Backing up Safedisc 2.5-3.1 is both hardware and software dependent. You need a good quality "2 sheep" cd\dvd burner and a reliable burning program (Alcohol 120&, BlindWrite Suite 5 or CloneCD). If you have to enable "ignore media type" to play your backup then this tells me you own a "1 sheep burner".
With "ignore media type" enabled you play the backup in your cd\dvd burner , not your cd\dvd-rom. See the list of 2 sheep burners m8.

Add the Plextor Premium (52\32\52x) to that list (hehe)
2 sheep dvd burners:
Plextor PX-708A(8x)
LiteOn LDW-411S (4x\dual)
LiteOn LDW401S (4x)<---- Great price at Newegg

well i have a 2 sheeper(sonycrx210E, found in the list) , and to make clearly:
i made a backup of CoD that i can only play with when ignore media type is on. but i wonder why i need emulation at this time because with fifa 2004 (same copyprotection), i dont need emulation.

Have you tried CloneCD or BlindWrite 5& BlindWrite 5 Tweaker? I really don't know why your backup won't play in your dvd\cd-rom m8. Try CloneCD in and of itself and for read settings, choose fast error skip and save file format as cue sheet. To write, choose "ignore" (sectors) and enable always close last session and burn at 8x(RAW DAO). Should the backup fail to play in your dvd-rom, then use FireBurner to burn the cue m8. Did your backup of Fifa Soccer 2004 install\play without error in your dvd\cd-rom?

ok shoey i made a copy i can play with but only if i burn it onto cd. in my virtual drives, it still needs emulation. yes i already tried clonecd, was the same as with alcohol. so i managed to make a perfect copy, finally thx :) FIFA 2044 runs perfectly, even in v-drives without any emulation.

I never mentioned playing the backups on a virtual stealth drive m8. I'm asking if your backups play in your dvd\cd-rom.
