Hello guys, I was wondering, I just had a chip installed on my system, is it possible to play euro/jap back ups on it? or can you only play american region? thx a lot in advance.
It depends on if the game is region free. Some are and some aren't. For examply, EA games are not, so an NTSC backup will only play on an NTSC system. Other games are and a PAL backup will play on your machine. Check the source of the game you are backing up, if you are getting it from online means check the NFO file or ask on forums of that site to see if it is a region free copy. Torrent sites, etc, usually have a comment page for each torrent, where most people will quickly be asking to find out if somehting is region free or not. I also think there is a website database will the regions for each game released that gets updated frequently but I have neverhad to go that far to find out. Hope this helps.
So that means that my copy of Eternal Sonata backed up, will work on the system? because it's ntsc? in other words any game NTSC backed up will work right? but as for other region i must check to see if it's locked or unlocked?
Exactly. All NTSC games will play on an NTSC console, other may as well, but thats on a title by title basis. I have plenty of PAL backups that play on my NTSC machine, I just made sure they were compatible before I abcked them up.
