Went out and bought BUG along with The Condemned yesterday, and started backing them up this morning. Put BUG in, dvd drive clicked for awhile before it gave up trying to read the disc. Popped the original in the PS3 to test it out and it played fine. Put in The Condemned in my PC, and used my usual process of ripit4me, dvd2one and nero, got warnings on dvd2one and nero but the backup plays fine.

Both are LionsGate, which as we know has been notorious with some of their protection, but this one has really left me scratching my head. Tried to make sure all emulation software and backup tools were off in case that was the culprit, but still a no go.

Tried searching all over, but a movie titled BUG brings up a lot of erroneous results in search engines. >>

Try ripping with DVDFab HD Decrypter...and then proceed as usual.

AFAIK, the consoles like DVD+R's booktyped the best.

downloaded and installed, but it just sits with "please insert DVD disc or choose DVD/image folder" while the disc clicks in the drive, then stops. In 'my computer', or any other programs, doesn't even recognize the disc is in the drive.

Could be a bad disc...PC drives and stand alone DVD players look at the data on DVD differently so saying that it will play in one and not the other isn't a good comparison. I would exchange your copy for another one and try again.

yeah I was just about to do that, was curious if anyone around here had tried it yet though to see if it was a common problem or not. =P Was reading that some discs are protected to not be readable in recorder drives, was curious if this was the case.

I'll head out in a bit though and let yall know if the exchange fixes it or not later.

Backed up both Bug and The Condemned successfully. The Bug was fine
with AnyDVD 6174 and Shrink. The Condemned I first wrote to the hard-
drive with DVDFabDecrypter, used FixVTS, then Shrink and burned with
Imgburn.
If you are having trouble getting your decrypting software to recognize the disc, try starting it first. Shut it off and then open
in your decrypting program. Sometimes that works.
DVDFabDecrypter is sometimes taking a little longer to open some of
the newer movies-something to do with the movies that have Pathfinder
on them.
