Hey, well I'm pretty new to the softmodding of 360s but tonight I learned a lesson.

I've done a few ms25 updates to the latest 1.2revC iXtreme and then tonight I tried to update an ms28 (I've used a VIA PCI SATA card from the beginning). This was with a Blaster360 NE that I had just fitted to it (it was pre-modded with Xtreme)

Dumped the firmware okay using the 10-second trick, but then when it went to flash it got stuck on Bank0 at 83%! Left it for a while and no change so had to reboot - error E65 and one red light. Bricked, right?

Anyways, I tried again and again with the 10 second trick as the drive was still showing up XTREME PRI MASTER in iFlash.

Finally, I didn't turn off the 360 before selecting the PRI MASTER option and I got a different message - CHIP ERASE. Then it froze again, not dead completely?

Restarted and tried again, this time it tried to flash the drive but got stuck again at Bank0! Then in a desperate act, I took the SATA cable from my HDD and connected it to the 360/PCI card and what do you know - flashed first time!

I just thought I'd post this because there may be someone out there that gets this problem to, and it just goes to show you should check everything before giving up.
