I got a spyware program that gets rid of spyware and when I deleted the spyware in my computer it deleted files that were needed to run Kazaa. Now when I try to open it I get a pop up that says:

"You have unistalled a part of Kazaa media desktop that is needed to run. Kazaa media desktop will quit now so you can re-install it. Error 1100."

I just need to know if there is a way to re-install it without losing all of my downloaded songs? The only option I've found it to re-download Kazaa, but that starts me all new and I lose all my songs.

Anyone who knows what to do please post.

I am not sure how to reinstall just the bits you need but you can move your downloaded songs or part downloaded songs to another folder, uninstall whats left of Kazaa then reinstall the whole thing ( I recommend changing to KazaaLite as this has no spyware) then if you move your songs back into the new shared folder then it will pick up your downloads from where you left off. Hoppe that made sense.
Go here for no spyware version http://www.kazaalite.tk/

If I just change the name of the file they are in, is that the same thing as moving them? And then just move that whole folder into the newly installed kazaa folder?
Just wanna make sure I do it right, don't wanna lose stuff. :)

If you do that then the files will still be deleted as it will still be in the same directory as before, you will actually have to move the files out of the Kazaa main folder in your program files.

OK. :) I moved the "my shared folder" from the kazaa programs file into the My Documents File Folder. Now if I go and download kazaa lite and then uninstal Kazaa, the song files should be all good, right?

yeah mate, then all you have to do once you've reinstalled kazaa lite is to move the contents of the shared folder back into the Kazaalite new shared folder. Or just diredt Kazaa to pick up the folder from where it it in your documents.
