WiiKey 1.3...Why?

I have yet to upgrade the firmware on my WiiKey to the newly released 1.3. Why? Because as of now almost everything works. I saw a short list of new features in 1.3 and can't seem to find it. It didn't seem like much.

When I first started playing copied backups I had a lot of problems. I upgraded to better media, only used "USA" and NTSC images, burned at slower speeds and now I am finding that a very large percentage of my backups work.

However, I do have a stack of GC games that haven't worked in the past. Will 1.3 play them now? I honestly could care less if I ever play these old games. Am I better off just leaving a working system alone or am I missing out on something by not upgrading?

1.3 is NOT an upgrade. It's simply the config disc. You must be talking about the 1.9b firmware upgrade but I tend to agree with you on this one.

If it aint broke then don't fix it right?

For some people though it provides some fixes for some game cube games and whatnot. I just upgrade in case there are any new security measures implemented. I do the same with my other systems. No ones gunna fault you for staying with your other firmware though. It makes sense.
