I'm new to the xbox 360 modding scene, and have read through a few of the tutorials. Although more enlightened, I still have a few questions if you don't mind answering.
1. If I buy an xbox 360 from the shops, to get it to play backup games, all I need to do is flash the DVD drive? (apart from benq at the mo).
2. Can the internal hdd be changed to for e.g. 500gb and have the games run off the hdd? Is there a dashboard to have a list of games on hdd to play from?
3. Will a UK xbox 360 play any region game downloaded e.g. from usenet?
1. Yes, but there are certain drives that you may have more difficulty with than others. (Benq not possible yet, 0079FK is difficult, 0078FK isn't the easiest). If you get a Samsung make sure you flash with a VIA chipset, for compatability (may not need it if you get an MS25).
2. There's no dashboard for that or way to do that yet.
3. Depends if they're region free, there are many region free guides out there.
1. Yes, just a flash.
2. Hard drive cant be modified at the moment and there is no way to play games off it. You can only play games of disks.
3. From what I've heard all 360's are region locked. There might be a way around this.
Can you please elaborate when you say a samsung drive needs flashed with a VIA chipset? I thought it was simply connecting the drive to the computer via SATA and bingo?! I think I will read up on flashing individual drives. ;)
