Hello all!

First off, this being my first post and all ... Bonjour!

I bought my 360 (with the newest firmware) last week, but I'm having some problems burning backups of my games. All my retail games work without problems, but the backups wont load. I get "Disk is unreadable" or "Place this disk in a xbox 360".

Anyone knows if the problems are caused because my dvd burner is so old?
Oh and I use verbatim (DL) media.

Thanks for your reply.

The games are valid scene releases so thats not the problem. I've tried burning with CloneCD, ImgBurn & DVD Decrypter ... None worked (After and before I updated the NEC's firmware).

your dual layer dvd burner change the book type to dvd-rom see if that helps i read on newer firmware you dont have to but try it.

Booktype shouldn't make any difference..

I couldn't burn successfully for samsung 360 drives with a nec3550 drive either. They worked about 60% of the time on a hitachi fitted box.

People said the pioneer drives work well.. the 112's.. I paid out £25.99 for one and it works a treat. No more coasters on any 360 drives.

Hm .. The booktype thing didnt work.
I think I'll just buy another dvd burner ... So you all recommend Pioneer or does it depend on what dvd drive my xbox has? I wont use it for anything else than burn 360 backups probably. (Yeah .. I'm too lazy to burn movies etc .. External hdds <3)
