What to do. I have the new toshiba hd dvd player A20. I'm running the Onkyo THX804 7.1 receiver and I want to upgrade my speaker package to Bose. I want the 2 front, 2 side, 2 rear, center and sub. I have the new Mitsubishi 73" TV. How do I buy the Bose? series 10 and add 2 speakers? Originally posted in wrong forum I think.

Please don't use "upgrade" and Bose in the same sentence. Bose speakers are not an upgrade. There is no Bose subwoofer. They are bass modules. When you add the bass from the module, to the main Bose speakers, you pretty much wind up with a not very good bookshelf speaker. See these:

The second link is also a link on the page, that the first link sends you to. If you go to all the different home theater forums, you'll find that Bose speakers are not in good standing, in home theater communities. You can buy much better, for the same money, or even cheaper sometimes.

See these speakers:

They will blow the Bose speakers, out of the water!

After doing much research and listening to many packages I decided on the Klipsch. I went with 2 RF 82 floors, 4 RS 42 surrounds, RS52 center and the RW 10D sub. I did notice a few bad comments about bose, however they all seem to point back to the same article. I did compare B&W, Keef, Bose, Mirage, Klipsch, and others. I did not even go to a big electronics store but a small home theater place a block from my house, that I never even knew was there.

Good for you. I'm sure you'll be much happier.

You kept being sent to the same article, because it explains things better than most of us can. It tells you stuff that Bose won't let you know. There is no big secret with Bose speakers. They just won't tell you anything because if you actually understand the numbers they give you, you'll realize you're not getting your money's worth.

I like the sound of a Bose Wave Radio, but not enough to pay about $500-$600, just for a clock radio!

Enjoy your Klipsch speakers. They should last you many years.

Duffer, good choice. I have used Klipsch for 21 years. My main setup now consists of the RF7 set up. The Reference line is top notch.

The difference between Bose and other top brands (Klipsch, B & W, KEF) is like comparing a Corolla to a Lexus.

Enjoy!

Yeah, I am really happy with the sound, and the deal I got was incredible. I went to a little place here in Fullerton CA called Zap Audio. They put together the package and gave me a price. I then took it to a larger retail store that specializes in home theater. They could not come close to the price. The salesman even said to get them because it was such a good deal.
