Guys, I'm having trouble understanding what happened to my LG GDR-8163B. I modded it to work with my xbox and installed it into my xbox. It was working for about a month and then a system error 9 showed up.Then I had problems with my PC dvd rom drive so I decided to use the LG 8163B for my PC and I got it to work with my pc. It starts making loud grinding noises though when loading up a disk, but its not scratching the disk. I disassembled it and everything looks fine inside.? What is going on? I try using it for my xbox again and the system error 9 shows up and it goes away once I use a different xbox dvd drive. How can I fix these problems? Did the firmware automatically update when I installed it into my computer? The LED on the DVD drive stays on, like its reading something. It used to just come on only when it was reading an inserted disk, but now it's on all the time. Where can I download a flashing program and the GRD-8050L Firmware to reflash the drive? I had a friends cousin flash it for me and he has now moved away.
