i have successfully backed up most of my games and booted using cogswap method but ghost recon advanced warfare,
action replay max, and a qcast gameshark mediaplayer(qcast), everytime i load them though using cogswap method. it initially start but then stops as if to check authenticity again and then i am prompted with please insert a playstation 2 format disk. action replay will go into the menu and let me into the cheats but all the other features but we after trying to go to other features such as memory same thing and gameshark mediaplayer does same thing except stops when about to connect to computer. all of my other backups work anybody know what this is or how to bypass it. thanks in advance

Is your Ghost Recon Advanced Warfare the same region as your PS2. Meaning are they both NTSC or Both PAL.
Also is your PS2 the slim version or the older FAT PS2.
What AR Max are you using, is it the AR MAX evo that works with Swap Magic? Is it the one from my folder(click my name to left)
What media did you burn it too.

both my ps2 and the ghost recon are ntsc region. my ps2 is a fat one like schp 3000 i believe and the im not sure about the action replay max version, i know its not evo i think its just the standard action replay max. and the disk i am using is taiyo yuden media. not sure there are a few disk that have the same outcome as ghost recon also.

All I could find for you on Ghost Recon Advanced warfighter is this thread.

Seems like they all had to use DVD-R media. The brand you have is good though.
They use swap magic to load the games though.
As for the AR MaX , I don't know that you can get it too work properly, loading backups the way you do. I only know of using the Ar max evo with Swap Magic. Otherwise you would need the retail version.
How exactly are you booting your backups? What I mean is how are loading the cogswap method to boot your game.

well i dont have sm, i have an mc exploit that automatically launches launch elf 3.4 when i insert my psx disc. I have installed the cdloader directly onto the memory card so i have both cogswap and cdloader availiable on the menu. some disc not many do the same as ghost recon. with cogswap it will act as if to recheck and will say insert ps2 format disc. and the ghost recon just goes black with cdloader. maybe the cdloader is set to pal? it has an option on the initial load of cdloader with the elf on my memory card it say default and pal though, not pal and ntsc. any ideas.

I had problems with Ghost recon as well - had a look at the thread listed above, and discovered my problem was exactly the same as that one - read error at 33% with decrypter - bit of a coincidence to have damage on two different discs at identical locations, eh? Have polished out all the minor scratches on the disc to no avail. Still got the same read error...the other thread didn't come up with any solid solutions - any one here with ideas? Is PAL vers of GR-aw BTW.

well my problem is not creating the backup, my problem is that my ps2 will literally not load my backup i have created. as far as the pal and
ntsc. your gonna wanna use the one that is used in your region or whatever your ps2 is set to. but i dont understand y dvd decrypter wouldnt read it unless it was damaged? if your original is damaged that may be why but i had no problem creating the backup.

Funnily enough, I ended up copying with Nero (ignoring the read error) and the game has played fine so far...but my PS2 is chipped, so that doesn't help you that much, does it?
