Is it possible to use saves that are on a flash drive on the Wii? I mean they have prots for USB devices but it seems that flash drives are useless on the system. Can a flash drive serve any use on the Wii?

no you cant save you games directly to the sd card but you can transfer wii data over to it if your running low on space one your wii

i know as well you can put mp3s on the flash card and then listen to them in game with at least excite truck

I think he's referring to the USB flash drives, in that case at this moment in time theres not a device i can think of that uses them, except for something like a charge station which then acts as a power supply and doesn't really interact with the wii. You can't Save/Load things on to USB's, the memory has to come from the wii.

I assume that in time they'd make the USB's pretty handy as they are Universal Serial Hubs, universal being the key word. Take internet browsing for example, I think some keyboards are working, but it'd be just luck because Nintendo hasn't released any information about keyboard computability, even maybe a headset/microphone to help with team speak for online game play. But ofcourse before anything can work it needs a driver so the Wii can detect it so a firmware update would happen when they release hardware so you'll know about it, or maybe even a dvd disc driver now that i think about it? Anyway don't judge the Wii capabilities just yet, it's still pretty new. Hope this helps. -sLibs

Thanks, but it kinda bites that the wii doesn't use the USB flash drives for anything yet. Course I'm sure nintendo will for sure have some functions that the drives can be handy for. I was hoping to be able to use my 2gb flash drive instead of getting an SD card. Oh well, nothing I can do. Oh and the Wii rocks! Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition rocks!
