i dont know much about computers so excuse my ignorance, but i was wondering isnt a ps2 a computer in a sense? if it is, can it not be hacked like hooked to another computer and manipulated to play copies of originals?

the ps2 can be used as a computer. you will need to find the rare linux kit for it. but it can't be used to play copies off another computer. the system is either used to play games, or to boot linux. it can't emulate ps2 in linux.

i meant like can you hook the ps2 up to the comp and hack into it using the comp and change the software or add software or something like that to allow it to be tricked into playing burned games without using chips? kinda like swap magic manipulates it and tricks it into playing copies?

the ps2 can't be hacked easily in that sense, unlike the xbox.

you can use the memory card exploit to manipulate the systems buffer overflow, but it only works on the fat ps2. you can use hdloader and run the games off the hdd. there are other .elf files that you can use, but hdloader is the one i use.
