Hope I'm im the right department here..

In a bit of a jam...Before Installing ADS VideoXpress, I turned off Norton Security and uncoupled the Internet connection on my modem.

Ran the installation c.d.

While running and installing I had to pass over a couple of prompts (like register etc.) because I was disconnected from 'net.

My system meets the requirement for the necessary hardware etc.

After installing, all I get is a grey-bordered "window" om the screen, which, when I run the old super8 camcorder, will show the image quite nicely in good quality.

But....the screen is all I get and it will not turn off. I have to remove the electric plug to the comp to turn off comp because no command will shut off the computer.

When I start up again I'm o.k. as long as I don't click on the VideoXpress Icon. If I do the little screen will come on but that's it.Can't get rid of it or turn the comp off.

When I go to "all programs" I can find it in there but it will not show an "un-install".

My questions:= I guess I'm going to have to re-install it (?) but how?

Also should I be hooked up the net when I install it, even though I've got Norton turned off?

Or might it be some other problem?

It seemed like the Install Wizard downloaded the drivers o.k.

But I'm no expert on this stuff.......thanks for any help in advance!!

An alternative to shutting down the PC when this program is seized up, is to pres Ctrl_Alt_DEL and use the Task Manager (choose the Application Tab) and highlight the offending program and turn it off.
Of course this is not a substitute for normal program termination.

Also, you might go to the folder where the program was installed and look for an 'Uninstall' file.
If the shortcut is on the Desktop, right click on it, select 'Properties' and goto the target folder.

Otherwise all I can suggest is to try a System Restore to the point before the software was installed.
Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore and select the point before it was installed.
