I have done a search and seen similar threads but none that specifically answered my question. Mine is only not working with one dvd project.
I have used DVD Shrink countless times with no problem to back up my dvds, but for some reason my most recent project, Bob Newhart Show Season 2, keeps saving to my backup drive as an MDS file, not ISO. When going through the steps, it says the name of the image will be be bob newhart show.iso, but then when it's done ripping it's in MDS on my backup drive.
The reason it's important to me is because I use iriverter to transfer the ISO to AVI so I can transfer the show to my MP3 player. It doesn't work with MDS. This is the only disc that I have had this problem with, and it's a backup of the original. Is it possible I did something wrong when making the copy of the dvd so it won't save as ISO? Again, not having this problem with any other dvd.
Hope your HDD was formated using the NTFS file system and not FAT32? If it's fat32, files can't be larger than 4BG, larger files will be broken-up into smaller one linked together by a .mdf file.
But....try:
Burn the MDS file to disc with DVD Decrypter (ISO write and choose the MDS file). Once that's done, rip the copied movie to your HD with DVD Decrypter (ISO read mode). That should give you a .iso file to work with.
