Which one do you guys prefer? I heard people say that putting it on 6x might make the laser weak. Is this true? I am running mine at 3x. So let me know what you guys all heard..

Well i was playing my sims on 6x and when i changed it to 3x it was a little bit more laggier but i'll gladly pay that for the wear n tear my laser's gonna get from constantly reading at 6x speed. But since noone has really reported anything of this nature it's safe to go 6x, your laser will just wear out faster, could be by a little or a lot, again no-one's reported.

Isnt the default laser read speed like 8x now since one of the patches sped up the reading? So wouldnt 6x be slower than default, and make the laser unit last longer than default?

culius....write speed (16x) is not the same as read speed (6x) ><

The Wii has a maximum of 6x (or 8x, not sure if this is true) read speed, regardless of what speed you burned your game at....

i'm not sure and know much about how is DVD read and write speed , but the first , when i start try to write img. to DVD i write it by 2x and later i just play around with that by write 8x and it suprise
me still work with my wii ok , then i think why not try it with 16x , and load in wii it working normal , after that i'm so lazy to wait for 4x,2x, or 6x . i just write all of them at 16x , i'm not sure is it will affected to the life of the wii laser or not but , i just want to do it . So by the way it will working fine with x16 burn
if you worry about the laser reading speed on the wii , so just try 1 and play see ...(used Nero6xx,NecDVD-r,DVD-r or DVD+r both work)and my wiikey config. i set it to x6 )
