Booting wish Gameshark and Action replay

Hi im haveing some problems with booting up Dvd -r i have Guitar hero backed up and im trying to boot it, im pretty sure i have a neo 2.2 chip, i tried holding down the power and booted up AR and i put in orignal GH 2 and then let go of the reset put n back up it boots a black screen and then goes too the ps2 browser, i thought it was the dvds i was useing so i went out and baught some Fujifilm Dvd -R and getting the same thing,before i was useing memorex, Soo im wondering if its the AR im useing cus all guides say use Action replay 2 and i dont see any 2 on my AR, alsoo i have Gameshark 2 V4 and found out i cant use v4 too boot up backups, but the gameshark came with ab onus psx disk called Game shark 2 V2 can i use this to boot up backups? please help
