problems with custom guitar hero 2 game...HELP!!!!!

ive done everything that the guides have told me i have been through several of them and am quite confused lol....i did a couple custom songs for guitar hero 2 and i figured i would test it out b4 wasting anymore time doing more songs....so now im in need of some help...i burned the songs to a maxell dvd-r using the program nero at 4x speed...and i tried playing the songs....now i watched videos on youtube to mod the ps2 myself and it worked but the only problem is that when i play the game its extremely slow loading which i kinda expected but the game also keeps freezing up during the songs...if i play a custom song it will randomly freeze then play then freeze etc. but if i play a non customized song its fine no problems....and also the custom songs echo reaaally bad and its really frusterating me so if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated thank you very much!!!!!
