Hi,

My first post here so please excuse me for my stupidity!

I have a 500c that came all set-up and ready to go.

It has channel lists for all sattelite and cable services, i am only interested in cable as i am in a virgin media area.

I am missing some channels, Racing UK, ITV2, Bravo, FX and also BBC2 and BBC news 24 work for about 10 seconds then "I get no data service found" . . . . so someone told me to purchase a signal booster.

This made things worse, do i need to research with the booster for my channels?

Is there an easier way to add the missing channels? For example in the channel list Racing UK is shown once and that is for the Sattelite service.

Any help, pointers would be great, thanks.

Maybe the signal is too strong and you need an attenuator or the gain of the booster is too much and you have to adjust the gain level.

Fair enough i will try that but what I don't understand is why the channels don't show up in the list, is this because it is not in the image on the box?

For example Racing UK shows up for SKY channel but no entry for cable.

If the channel list don't match your cable area you have to do a scan.

Ah this is where it sounds confusing.

I looked under automatic transponder scan and i have 3 entries.

Bruteforce UK
CableUK Sym6952
CableUK Sym6887

Are they correct for the south east?

So if i scan those which i have, for example it says 37 new tv services found, but when I go into "all providers" it only shows about 5 new channels.
