This is just to let any one know that Bit Torrents does work and is fast. I've been using it for over 3 months after being turned on to it by a buddy of mine. I've used kazaa lite K++ in the past and it's not even in the same league in my opinion. What makes torrents so good is that there isn't a bad file out there. Seriously. I dl'd tons of bad or MISLABELED files off kazaa in the past. I 've read other posts saying that BT is slow. If you're behind a router (which I've tried) it can be. Unless you know how to configure your router and open the ports that BT uses you can't connect to other users via the ports, giving you a slower dl speed. So, if you're behind a router, try going direct. BT does start the dl slow but let it go it WILL pick up. Be patient. I've hit speeds many times of 150kbs-180kbs but generally average 50kbs-70kbs. There are tons of places that you can get torrent files from. I've found the most popular and most variety are at suprnova.org, by far the best. I just wanted to inform people about my experience. If you have ?'s reply in this post.

Hey Beenboi, before you het too excited about BT, I've heard alot of stories about BT being unsecure and people receiving mails from their ISP's saying that they should delete all infringing material on their HD. Soo....Just be careful BT is not as safe as emule , for example, and you should always run a firewall of some sort.

Read this thread.

Yeah BT does seem pretty vulnerable from what i heard.

it doesnt have emule's fancy ip filter so you just have to rely on peer guardian

but yeah BT is the only p2p where i crack 100 on dl speeds.
