I have a japanese psp-1000 with a TA-82 motherboard and firmware 2.81. a while back I saw some info indicating that the US firmwares and/or the downgrades/CFW are bad for the japanese psps (though this may have been sony propaganda). I already have my US psp running 3.52 M33 and would like to have my other psp running the same. Is there a safe method for downgrading and then installing CFW on a japanese psp? I own both GTA:LCS and Lumines, so I have several options at my disposal if there are no problems. Thanks for the help.

You can downgrade no matter what PSP region your PSP is in. Your safest bet would be creating a Pandora battery. just back up your Battery EEPROM before creating it so you can recover your battery back to normal.

HERE is a link to create the Pandora battery. (Use your 3.52 M33 to create it).

thanks for the help. had to do it without the battery though. i am 1400 miles from home at the moment and don't have the right memory sticks XD . got it to work with GTA downgrade just fine.
