Hitachi drive build error?

Hey

i searched around the forum for an answer to my question and i tried everything and nothing has worked.
When i plug my xbox 360 drive into my pc via sata cable, inbuilt sata card and cable, i go into mode b and my drive shows up as E:
i want to restore my drive to original format so i can install a new firmware, i use restore through command prompt and it says

Hitachi drive build was not detected

then it says something like one of these could be the problem

Check if the drive is visibe in windows - it is visible

Make sure you are using the right letter- I am

Your drive may not be a working x360 drive- It is, as i unplugged it and it works fine when i put a game in it and it plays fine.

wil it work if i change the letter for the drive if possible?
