I got a new 4 gig memory stick from ebay and erm it doesnt seem to work right.

The PSP accepts it and the freespace seems right but when i tranfer files over they become corrupt. Whats going on? ive tried to format it via the PSP a few times and from windows a full format both have not helped.

Im running a custom firmware(could this be the problem) 3.52 m33-4
or did i get a faulty memory card the ebay seller at a 100% feeback record so i thought it seem ok.

Make sure the Memory Stick is in your PSP. Now go to Game menu memory Card. When your at the Memory Card Icon press triangle then information when the sidebar pops out.

If it says magicgate supported then it should be fine. if it says unknown then you have a fake 4GB card.

What files are you transfering over and where are you transfering them to?

mmm I got a fake with someone 99.4% positive 25 000+ ... thing is, most people who get a fake dont say its fake cause then the other guy will give him negative feedback...which ruins rep.

at least the seller has agreed to take back the memory stick and give a refund.

for your next memory stick, it's better to get it in stores. it's not cheap as online stores, but it's guaranteed to be real.

ebay is really dangerous on getting ms sticks.but be careful, people has said they got fake cards from shops, so go to a well-known shop to buy them.

To clear things up for future buyers, the reason for the corruption is because u are transferring files larger than the actual capacity of the MS (this is one of the main reasons, and only affects those who have FAKE a MS). What a lot of sellers do is code a counterfeit MS into displaying capacities greater than what it actually can hold e.g. a 256MB encoded to show 4GB as it's capacity.
