hitachi 78 stuck in mode b ?

ok i just flashed my brothers 360 wich had a hitachi 78 drive using the guide in the sticky (*TUTORIAL* How to flash any Hitachi with ixtreme 1.2rev2. PDF download now available!) everything went well so i powered off the xbox and started it back up again to try a game but the drive is stil in mode b, have i done something wrong ? or do i need to turn off mode b ? , any help would be grateful.
