It sounds like your burners firmware could be out of date.
Open DVD Decrypter and go to Tools, Drive, Firmware update check.
Selecting "check for firmware updates" will give you the option to open a webpage that will have info on the latest firmware for you burner, and that original window will also tell you your current firmware version number.
Its that or its bad media. I use SonyDVD-R pretty much all the time though and have no issues, but I always keep up with the latest burners.
Give that a go and let us know if thats your issue.
I agree... I use imgburn also. But he may still get the same error with imgburn also. So he would still have to do the firmware check update. It states this on their support site.
I see how you guys helped out the other guy so here goes. I have been using dvd decrypter 3.5.4 for about 3 weeks with no trouble. One day I go to "backup" a dvd. I use dvd decrypter to rip it, no problem. I use dvd shrink to take out all the extra crap, still all good. Then like always, I try to burn using the dvd decrypter and it gets to about 50 seconds on the time elapsed and it throws up an error message

I'm using the same discs that i've been using. Nothing's changed. This happens in both write and test modes. I've uninstalled and reinstalled many times, tried updating firmware, but it says the specified string could not be found. This happens when I go to the website listed above about firmware.
Can anyone help me with this? This is very frustrating.
So when you say you used DVD Decrypter to rip the DVD, I assume you are talking about a PS2 game as this is the PS2 section. If so you would not use DVD Shrink with PS2 games.
If its a movie you ripped, then used DVD Shrink to take out extras, you are then better off to use Nero to burn that now.
I apploogize. I didn't see the ps2 part on there. The thing that annoys me is I was doing it the same way for three weeks or more using dvd decrypter and it doesn't work all of a sudden. I want it to be as simple as it was before. They seem to work very well together while not using very much memory.

Thats ok, it happens. I am not sure why it is not working for you now then, if nothing else has changed about how you rip and take out the extra stuff of the movies. Sorry I am not much help. Did you always use DVD shrink before too, when it was working for you?
