Im kind of a noobie when it comes to surround sound so I've got a question. I've got a receiver with 1 hdmi connection but I've got and xbox that has an hdmi connector as well... How would I go about getting the surround sound from the xbox while still getting the picture to the tv? With only 1 hdmi connection on the receiver i could connect the xbox to it, but then what? No way of getting it to the tv...

Meant to include this originally but forgot... Would it work if i went HDMI from the xbox to the tv, then red/white cables from separate xbox connector to the receiver? Guessin that if it doesn't screw with the xbox that's my only option...

It should work if you run the HDMI to tv, and red & white cables to receiver. Does the Xbox have digital coax or optical output, for audio? It would be better than the red & white audio hookup.

Just remember that you'll need to change the input on the tv AND the receiver, when you want to use the Xbox, hooking up that way.

hey JVC i have a similar situation except for my reciever doesnt have hdmi just component and composites and i think one digital coax and 1 fiber optic. so i would just do the same thing and run my hdmi to my tv and then use the fiber optic from my xbox 360 elite to the reciever ... im a little slow could you take a look at my thread its titled "need help setting up my htib please".

thanks
