Before I waste ant DL DVDs on backing up my old xbox 1 games, will they work if i make them ixtreme compatible dvd-9 on my core pack 360 that doesn't have a hard-drive since i can't get originals to work without it.

if the ofiginals wont work without the hdd what makes you think the backups will?
think about it, you have to have something there you can put the files from microsoft to make them work, so i will answer your question with a NO even though i have never tried to play mine without a hdd.
