I am a complete newbie at this so I tried reading many of the threads but still having difficulties.
I have the NTSC Wii with a Wiikey installed (not by me) in April 07.
Here is what I did:
- Downloaded Setup disc v1.3 (PAL/USA/JAP)
- Downloaded Wiikey 1.9b Update Disc
- Extracted both and got the US region files
- I put filechop.exe, fixsize.cmd, wkupdate.1.9b.us.iso in its own folder to burn it using Nero - Inserted the burned disc into the wii and the wii did not recognize it
What am I doing wrong? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated ...

Command prompt into the folder with filechop amd the iso and issue the following command. "filechop.exe <isoname> 1459978240" then burn the created image.
Please excuse my ignorance, but how do you command prompt? Is it by going to Start menu, Programs, Accessories, Command prompt? If so, what do you type in?

no no no no, Look, you don't need to file chop squat! Just burn the iso file for the region of wii you have. From the sound of your original post it sounds like you burned it as a data disc. This is wrong. Cancel out of the new compilation window when you first open nero and select, recorder then burn image and point to the .iso file for your wii. IT's that simple.
Don't worry about the filechop.exe or fixize.cmd or none of that. Just open nero and burn the image file for your regioun of wii. Just make sure that you are actually burning the disc from the image, Not buring the image onto the disc in the form of data.
