Hi, after flashing my drive, I bought a TS-H352C Dvd drive pre-flashed with the right firmware. I'm trying to install it into my computer and it is not being detected. The drive will open and close fine, and even spin if I put a disc in so it appears to be working.

Here is info that may help: I don't have a free IDE spot on my computer so I got an IDE to SATA adapter and am using that to connect to one of my open SATA ports. I have a dual layer DVD burner in my other spot and that works fine, but this DVD drive is not being detected at all. Also I'm using Windows Vista.

Any ideas on how to get this to work would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

One more thing, my computer can detect the drive in Bios but once it gets to Vista it can't detect the drive. Anybody else have this problem?

Thanks for the help, but my Dual layer dvd burner that is being detected, does not have a jumper, it just has a SATA power connector and a SATA cable spot to connect to my SATA port. My DVD drive that is not being detected does have a jumper spot and I have tried it as both a Master and Cable Select. Any other ideas on why I would be able to get my computer to detect the drive in bios but not in windows?

If you hook an IDE drive up and set the jumpers to Master, you must use the ide connector that is on the end of the cable. You use the one in the middle as a Slave.

Well I'm not sure exactly what I did, but I managed to get it to work. I was able to get an iso off of one of my games onto my computer and then burn it. Of course when I take the burned dvd out to try on my 360 I find that my Xbox has RROD me. So all that work for nothing. Thanks again for the help guys. Now it's time to either fix my old 360 or get a new one.
