What is the easiest way of playing backups on a 360, flashing, modchip? Also can any xbox 360 be modded, core system/premium system?
Sorry for the newbie question.

flashing, and no, right now not all drives on the 360 can be modded. Do a search and you can find plenty of info on this subject.

Yes m8, in order to get to the DVD. You flash the DVD if it can be done. It looks like the BenQ and Hitachi 79 drives cannot be done yet!
There are tutorials on taking the Xbox apart and you need a particular tool to do it which you can buy via Ebay. There are also loads of good tutorials which tell you how to flash and what you need.

incorrect. the hitachi 79's can be modded, they just need a chip soldered onto them first. the benq's however, cannot be modded yet.

Incorrect. The Benq can be modded. It just needs a switch soldered. It's actually easier than soldering the chip in to the 79. But it doesn't matter. Both drives can be modded but there's no modded firmware available for either yet.

ok, so basically the Benq cannot play backups as of now. The hitachi 79 CAN! You solder the pass key on and flash it with ixtreme 1.2 rev2. works like a charm

Right. All I meant was I was assuming you hadn't found out the Benq's could be read/flashed yet. They can be modded, there's just no firmware for the Benq yet.
