i just recieved my WiiKey. i bought it from ps2cover which on the page it says "Compatible with all Nintendo Wii Systems World Wide. No need to check your model number." so today i seen that there is a new D2CKey key that only works for new Wii's. can anyone confirm if this is true and if my Wii is one that wont work with the WiiKey? my model number is LU52974761. thanks for help

enter the whole serial number in there and it'll tell you what you have. Wiikeys will not work with D2C if that's what you have. You'll want to buy the D2Ckey if you do but it'll be harder to solder- it has over 30 wires.

Your Drive Chip is most likely GC2-D2C.
Your Drive Pins are most likely not cut.

does that mean there is a chance it will work? im only asking because i already bought it and recieved the WiiKey today

the wiikey will not work on your board. you need the d2ckey modchip.

the wiikey was created before nintendo implemented the d2c chip. that's why the site said it was compatable with all systems. but once the d2c was released, the current modchips wouldn't work, due to a redesign of the motherboard.

you should email again and ask for proof if the chip is compatable with the d2c board. ask for a video clip. pics can be found all over the net.
